A Kansas man was killed in Tuesday evening crash in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred as a 2001 GMC Pickup driven by Daniel K. Gartner, 56, Oketo, KS., was southbound on I-29 three miles south of St. Joseph.

The truck traveled off the left side of the road and struck a cable barrier.

Gartner was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The MSHP had no report on whether Gartner was properly restrained.
