A St Joseph man is among three defendants indicted by a federal grand jury for allegedly conspiring to sell the synthetic drug K2.
Shakeel Kahn,36, of St. Joe, along with two California men appeared in federal court this week.
The trio are charged with conspiracy to distribute synthetic cannabinoid products from March 1, 2011, to April 30, 2014.
Kahn is also charged with aiding and abetting distribution of the drug, and money laundering.
Also named in the indictment were Mohammed Saleem, 40, of Diamond Back, Calif., and Asif Saddiq, 56, of Fullerton, Calif.
A federal grand jury returned the three-count indictment under seal on April 30, 2014. That indictment was unsealed and made public Wednesday upon the arrests and initial court appearances of the defendants.
