A man walking home to his apartment in southeast Saint Joseph was stabbed and seriously injured early Friday morning. Police Sergeant Keith Dudley says the assailant pulled up in a car, jumped out, began an altercation, and stabbed the victim before fleeing shortly after 12:30 am.

The victim was taken to Heartland and needed surgery to treat the wound. Police are now looking for the suspect. The stabbing is still under investigation.
