The St. Joseph Aquatic Park is scheduled to open for the season this weekend. Opening day will be Saturday, May 24, however, the park will be closed on Sunday, May 25, due to high school graduations. Normal operating hours will resume on Monday, May 26. The Aquatic Park is open
daily from 11am-7pm.

Both Hyde and Krug pools have yet to schedule opening dates due to the shortage  of lifeguards. Whether these two pools will open this season depends on the availability of certified lifeguards hired.

In an effort to recruit lifeguards and schedule the opening of both neighborhood pools, the City Council recently approved an increase in the hourly rate paid to certified lifeguards. The hourly rate is now $9, and the minimum age to lifeguard is 15. Requirements include American Red
Cross lifeguard certification, along with CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
