KANSAS CITY (AP) – Kansas City police say a man died after officers shot him during a standoff at a home.
Police identified the man Monday as 26-year-old Isaac Sims, of Kansas City.
Officers were called to the home Sunday to investigate reports that the man shot at his father and a neighbor, who were not injured. Officers reported hearing several gunshots inside the home and a standoff began.
After about four hours, the man left the home. Police say he pointed a rifle at officers, who fired. Sims was pronounced dead a short time later.
The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave.
