Cerner’s south Kansas City campus to expand

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Cerner Corp. says it wants to expand what is already going to be the largest office development in the Kansas City area.
The company said in a statement Tuesday that it also plans to change the layout of buildings in its Three Trails project.
The Kansas City Star reports the original plan had the main buildings grouped together surrounded by acres of parking lots. The new plan scatters the buildings, includes green space and adds 50 acres to the original 237 acres.
The expansion would add $213.7 million to the $4.2 billion cost of the project. Cerner plans to bring 15,000 new employees to the site when it is completed in 2024.
The Kansas City Increment Financing Commission is expected to discuss the revised plan at its July meeting.
