WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Sam Graves (MO-06) today released the following statement after President Obama accepted General Eric Shinseki’s resignation as United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs:
“Although I believe the Secretary’s resignation is an appropriate first step, more changes and reforms need to be made to ensure this never happens again. Ultimately, the responsibility lies with the President to properly manage the executive agencies, and this is not the first scandal we have seen under his watch. The President’s complacency has hurt not only our veterans, but also damages Missourian’s faith in our government.”
