MARYVILLE, Mo. – Wanda Mae Beggs, 90, passed away May 29, 2014 at Parkdale Manor, Maryville.
Wanda was born September 20, 1923, in Parnell, Mo., to Walter and Velma (Dunn) Paxton. She married Quinton Beggs on May 17, 1941, who preceded her in death in 1999.
In addition to Quinton, Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Lois Morene Sewell, Darleen Kathryn Jacks and Audrey Ann Thornton and son-in-law: Dennis Fetters.
She is survived by her children: Sue Fetters, Carlisle, Iowa; Don Beggs, Kansas City, Mo.; John Beggs and Patricia Stiens, Maryville. She had nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was formerly employed by Northwest Missouri State University. She was a member of the First Christian Church and Past President of Mary Martha Circle, Maryville.
Wanda enjoyed listening to music, flower gardening and working crossword puzzles, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was an accomplished baker and won first prize for her carrot cake.
Visitation is anytime at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral Services are 2 p.m. , Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Price Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Nodaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Maryville.

ST. JOSEPH – Henrietta Mejia, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the home of her son in Broken Arrow, Okla. Henrietta was born on August 7, 1923 in Wathena, Kansas to Harvey L. and Myrtle (Mead) Parker.
She graduated from Wathena High School in 1941 and worked at North American Aircraft during WW II assembling B-25 parts. She later worked for Jersey Cereal.
She married Rudy Mejia on January 31, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 10, 2005.
Henrietta was the ultimate stay-at-home Mother in 50s, 60s and 70s, always making sure that her five children were well-fed, their clothes were clean and pressed and they attended church and Sunday school.
She was a member of Marvin McMurry United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, Lindbergh PTA member, home room mother and a lifetime member of the Lafayette Booster Club along with her husband Rudy. She and Rudy and the family ran the concession stand at Krug Pool from 1966 until 1982.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters, three brothers, daughter-in-law, Gywnnie Mejia, grandsons, Matt Mejia and Jayden Underwood.
Surviving family members include sons, David Mejia, St. Joseph, MO.; Rudy Mejia, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Stanley (Barbara) Mejia, Broken Arrow; Mark (Patti) Mejia, Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Luanne (David) Myers, St. Joseph; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Harvey L. Parker; and several nieces and nephews.
Services 1 p.m., Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel.
Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 9 a.m., Sunday at our chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday evening.
