One person was injured in a Thursday evening traffic mishap in Andrew County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Toyota Echo driven by Toby C. Hartig, 20, St. Joseph, was southbound on U.S. 169 at Avenue City.

The driver attempted to pass a tractor-trailer and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle skidded across the centerline and off the east side of the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle returned to the road. The vehicle came to rest facing west in the northbound lanes.

Someone other than EMS transported Hartig to Heartland Regional Medical Center.
Passengers in the vehicle Ezequiel Vargis, 20, and Caleb J. Wilson, 21, both of St. Joseph, were not injured.
The MSHP reported none were wearing seat belts.
