Kansas Highway Patrol Media Release

On Sunday at approximately 5:57 p.m., a Kansas Highway Patrol motor carrier inspector assisted by Montgomery County Sheriff’s office at a rural residence with a subject who was reported to be armed.

Upon arriving at the residence the officers located the suspect and shots were fired. The suspect was killed.

No officers were injured.

As standard policy and in accordance with KHP policy, the officer has been placed on administrative leave while the case is being investigated. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation.
