TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A 24-year-old Topeka man is scheduled to make his first court appearance Monday in connection with a shooting that left one man dead and two others injured.
Shawnee County officials say the suspect was booked into jail Sunday evening facing counts of first-degree murder and aggravated battery.
The victim of the shooting Saturday in Freedom Valley Park has been identified as 20-year-old Germaul Rayton of Topeka. Police say the victim and suspect knew each other. The two survivors were treated and released Saturday.
Saturday’s homicide was the second in Topeka this year.
