PARSONS–Two people were killed in a head on crash just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday in Labette County

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2011 GMC Terrain driven by Timothy P. Schartz, 64, Alamont, was northbound on U.S. 59 four miles north of the U.S. 160 Junction.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle went left of center and struck a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by Misty R. Chalker, 41, Parsons.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. They were transported to Frontier Forensics in Kansas City.

The KHP report said it was unclear if they were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
