A Kansas man is due back in court next week after he was charged with resisting arrest and assault of a law officer in a high speed pursuit in Holt and Atchison counties this week.
Court documents indicate James Elston fled from a traffic stop in Holt County.
He allegedly rammed his vehicle into the patrol vehicle of the pursuing deputy. Holt County Deputy Adam James was not hurt.
The 38-year-old Lawrence man is being held under $250,000 bond. During his first court appearance Tuesday, Elston told a judge he would apply for a public defender.
