ST. JOSEPH – Opal Marie Falkenbach, 84, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014 at a local health care center.
Marie was born September 22, 1929 to Elroy and Hattie (Palmer) Hiskey in Iowa.
Marie lived most of her life in St. Joseph where she spent 47 years of marriage with Wilbur Falkenbach until his passing in 2012. She was a seamstress and worked for several companies.
Marie was a Christian. She had a very kind heart of loved all of her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing.
Preceding her in death is her husband Wilbur; her parents; four brothers, Edward, Galen, Walter, and Wayne Hiskey and two sisters, Florence (Adams) Cunningham and Mary Iva Banks.
Survivors include two sisters, Laura Ripper of St. Joseph and Verla Jean Newton of Wathena, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Falkenbach has been cremated under direction of Clark-Sampson Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with visitation prior to service from 5 to 7 p.m. A private inurnment will take place at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. ST. JOSEPH – Shirley Ann Alder, 78, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born June 19, 1936 to John and Ruth (Robison) Hoffman in St. Joseph.
Shirley married Thomas Clifford Alder on July 17, 1955. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1989.
She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1955 and was a housekeeper for the St. Joseph School District for seven years and Country Squire for nine years. Shirley was the Pledge Center Coordinator for Muscular Dystrophy Association for six years, and Past President for the St. Joseph Firefighters Auxilliary.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sherri Alder; and brother-in-law, Roy Jacobs.
Survivors: daughter, Lisa Hemphill (James), Atlantic, Iowa; grandchildren, Jessica Pritchett-Chapins (Kevin), Columbia, Mo., Emily, Olivia, Logan and Carter Hemphill; and sister, Naomi Jacobs, Amity, Mo.

WATHENA, Kan. – Gary M. Walts, Jr., 46, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at his home.
He was born December 29, 1967 to Gary and Judy (Duckworth) Walts, Sr., in St. Joseph.
He married Michelle Marie Merritt in 1989. She preceded him in death in August 1991.
Gary was a handyman and worked as a painter. He was an avid hunter, mushroom hunter, and fisherman. Gary lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He was a good man who would give the shirt off his back to help you. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his grandparents; Uncle, Bill; and cousin, Billy.
Survivors: children, Amber and Kory Walts; five grandchildren; sister, Kelly Casey (Duane); parents; cousin, Jon Walts (Lisa) and their three children.
Services: 1 p.m., Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory. SAVANNAH, Mo. – Harry B. Frock, 90, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his home.
He was born December 7, 1923 to John and Bertha Frock in Hale, Mo.
He married Helen McCush on October 6, 2004. She survives of the home.
Harry proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and worked at Burlington Northern Railroad for thirty-five years. He was a member of St. John’s Church and the Lion’s Club in Amazonia, Mo.
Mr. Frock was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Birdeen Frock; and daughters, Mary Kay Fox and Dorothy Plaster.
Additional Survivors: son, Ed Frock (Suzanne); daughter, Terry Wilson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services and Interment: 3 p.m., Tuesday, Memorial Park Cemetery. The procession will leave from Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory. SKIDMORE, Mo. – Dennise Elaine Mace, 52, passed away Monday June 23, 2014.
She was born February 10, 1962 in St. Joseph, daughter of Mary and Dennis “Ed” Mace.
Dennise was preceded in death by her father; paternal grandparents, Homer and Loraine Mace; maternal grandparents, Harry High and Elsie Hughesand; a niece, Melissa Lawrence.
She is survived by mother, Mary Mace of the home; four brothers, Dennis (Jackie) Mace, Alan (Lyn) Mace, Jimmy Mace, and Joey Mace; a sister, Dena Kay; many nieces, nephews and cousins and friends.

ST. JOSEPH – Roger Wayne Wolfing, 80, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 13, 1934 to Tom E. and Eurith E. (Palmer) Wolfing.
Roger married Sandra Ann Glauser on January 22, 1964. She survives of the home.
Mr. Wolfing worked as an engineer at Goetz Brewery, St. Joseph State Hospital, and Laverna Village Nursing Home in Savannah, Mo. He proudly served in the United States Army in Korean after the Armistice.
Roger was a Christian and member of the St. Joseph Gruetli Verein Swiss Lodge. He was a loving and kind husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: wife, Sandra Ann; son, Colonel Bradley T. Wolfing, US Army, Vicenza, Italy; daughter, Audrey G. Wolfing, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; sisters, Barbara J. Wolfing, St. Joseph, and Carol R. Rice (Bobby Joe), Stewartsville, Mo.; sister-in-law Rhodie Schottel, St. Joseph; nieces, Rebecca Young, Conyers, Georgia and Amy Clark, Princeton, Mo.; and aunts, Wilma Waterstradt and Jean Riley, St. Joseph.

GOWER, Mo. – Don Walters, 92, formerly of St. Joseph, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at a local healthcare facility.
He was born June 3, 1922 to Albert and Della (Cline) Walters.
Mr. Walters proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He worked as an airline mechanic at TWA for 35 years. Following his retirement he returned to farming. Don was a very hard worker and always kept busy with new projects.
He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Walters; first wife, Evelyn Crump; second wife, Helen Bomar; parents; sisters, Cleva Yager and Helen Poe; and brother, Jim “Bus” Walters.
Survivors: sons, David Walters (Sharron), Gower, and Darryl Walters (Debbie), St. Joseph; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Margie Gilmore and Hazel Miley.
