TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Topeka police say a man was taken into custody after he went to a Dollar General store and claimed to have a bomb.
Lt. Jack Mackey says in a news release that officers were called to the store Wednesday evening when the man told employees he had a bomb and they should call police. The employees were allowed to leave the store.
Officers took the man into custody without incident. Mackey says the city’s bomb unit determined the package the man had was clothing and miscellaneous items.
The investigation is continuing.
