LEAWOOD, Kan. (AP) — A Silver Alert has been canceled for an 81-year-old man missing from his home in the Kansas City suburb of Leawood, Kansas.

Leawood police say John R. Drummond was found safe Monday morning in Bourbon County, Kansas, more than an hour away from his home.

The alert was issued after his family reported that Drummond hadn’t been seen since he left his home about 6 p.m. Sunday to go to a nearby store.

Leawood police say John R. Drummond hasn’t been seen since he left his home Sunday about 6 p.m. to go to a nearby store.

Drummond was driving a red 2011 Lexus ES 350 four-door sedan with Kansas license plate 540 CRD.

He is a white male, about 6-feet tall and weighing 215 pounds.

Authorities say Drummond needs medication that he does not have with him.
