Police in Sabetha, Kansas are hoping you can help them find a man wanted for questioning in a sexual assault investigation. Authorities believe William Vogel may be hitchhiking or asking for rides because he’s not believed to have his own transportation.

On Tuesday, Police Chief Robert Wahwasuck said they have received unconfirmed reports from a citizen who claims to have seen the suspect at the Love’s Truck Stop on I-29 in St Joe early Monday morning.

Chief Wahwasuck said in a news release that Vogel’s whereabouts are still unknown.

It is believed that Vogel is no longer in Sabetha but may still be hiding out in the Northeast Kansas area. Their investigation thus far has indicated that Vogel may be trying to get to Florida, Texas or Illinois.

Wahwasuck describes Vogel as 6’2″, 280 pounds, with brown eyes, and brown but mostly gray hair. If you can help, call Sabetha police at (785)284-2158.
