OZARK, Mo. (AP) — A southwest Missouri man died after he was hit by a front-end loader at a quarry for a construction company.

Christian County Coroner Brad Cole said 73-year-old Robert Shelby Hill of Clever died Tuesday morning at the quarry for the Leo Journagan Construction Company.

Cole says Hill was waiting to load a dump truck when he walked across a road and was hit by the loader.

CEO Allen Journagan says Hill worked for a subcontractor of the construction company. He says his company has a good safety record.

A federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance officer will investigate the accident.
