ST. JOSEPH- A Missouri man was injured in an accident that tied up traffic just after 11 a.m. on Saturday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Nissan Titan driven by Lynn A. Richey, 73, Forrest City, was merging from westbound U.S. 36, onto northbound Interstate 29.
The Nissan sideswiped a semi, began to skid, went off the right side of the road and hit a bridge rail. The semi traveled off the left side of the road and struck a guardrail.
Richey was transported to Mosaic Life Care. The semi driver from Florida was not injured.
The MSHP reported both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident.

The St Joseph Police Department just issued a nixle message before 11:30 a.m. Saturday letting motorists know of an accident blocking traffic in the northbound lane of I-29 at US 36 in Buchanan County due to traffic accident.
