LOWRY CITY- A Missouri teen died in an accident just after 3 p.m. on Sunday in St. Clair County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Polaris ATV driven by Mason F. Atagi, 16, Independence, was traveling on NE 800 Road four miles east of Lowry City.

The driver lost control, ran off the road and struck a tree. The driver was ejected.

Atagi was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Sheldon Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola.

The MSHP reported he was not wearing a helmet.
