The walking trails south of Remington Nature Center will be closed Monday until after noon due to a controlled burn.

A Nixle message was sent out this morning just before 8 a.m. to inform the public of the closure.

A red flag warning has been issued by the National Weather Service to begin at 1 p.m. and last until 7 p.m.

St. Joseph Fire Inspector Jason Ziph said the city plans to have the controlled burn completed before the 1 p.m. time.
