The “Show-Me Green Sales Tax Holiday” is underway.

Through this Saturday (4/25), the sale of qualifying Energy Star certified new appliances will be exempt from the state sales tax.

State lawmakers created the tax holiday, which started in 2009.

Counties and cities are allowed to take part as well, but neither Buchanan County nor the City of St Joseph are waiving their sales taxes. Nodaway County, and the City of Maryville are taking part.
