The school board in Doniphan County made it official this week, voting to close the Doniphan West Primary School in Highland June 30th.

Board members also agreed to move preschool and kindergarten students to the elementary school near Denton. Last month, the USD-111 Board of Education voted to move 7th and 8th graders from the Denton School to the high school facility in Highland.

The unanimous votes came during a special meeting held Monday, April 20. The school board has solicited public input as it grapples with state cuts to public education funding.
