The Northwest Missouri State University women’s tennis team beat Central Oklahoma, 5-1, on Friday in the opening round of the MIAA Tournament in Springfield, Mo.
The match, which was played indoors at the Cooper Tennis Complex, was halted after the Bearcats captured the two singles points to clinch the victory.
Northwest swept the three doubles points to take an early lead. Margaux Jaquet and Stephanie Mannix won at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
