SMITHVILLE, Mo. (AP) — A 37-year-old Missouri man is dead after the concrete-mixing truck he was driving plummeted off a bridge near Smithville.

Mark A. Yantis of Platte City was driving east on Missouri Route W around 10:30 a.m. Thursday when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the truck crashed through a guardrail and overturned, rolling down an embankment.

Yantis was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.
