Cameron R-1 Elementary School’s Donn Harrison has won the 2015 Top Teacher Search award hosted by ABC’s LIVE with Kelly and Michael show.

“The winner is Donn Harrison from Parkview Elementary,” Kelly Ripa said during the show. “You get the new car, $20,000.”

Harrison made it through numerous rounds of voting and several live appearances on the national TV show.

“Thank you so much.  Just thank you to the kids, everyone who voted, everyone in the country,” Harrison said. “This is beyond belief. This is so unbelievable.”

Harrison has taught for 21-years in Cameron.  He is a teacher, firefighters and E.M.T.

“Donn became an E.M.T. when a student fell on the playground and he felt like he didn’t know enough to help her well,” Lynette Harrison said. “Since then he got certified and works summers and weekends on the ambulance to keep up his knowledge.”

As the 2015 Top Teacher Donn takes home a new Ford Edge, and $20,000 courtesy of a LIVE partnership with Coca-Cola Life.

Also on his first live appearance on the show the Parkview Elementary School was awarded ASUS  Transformer books.
