Caldwell County checkpoint leads to DWI arrest and many warnings

MSHP patchThe Missouri State Highway Patrol held a checkpoint in Caldwell County overnight Friday landing several arrests and many more warnings.

Capt. James McDonald commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph announced the results of a checkpoint held from 10 p.m. on Friday May 9 to 2 a.m. Saturday, May 10 in Caldwell County.

Officers issued four tickets and 33 warnings for violations.

One driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Officers also made one arrested for felony weapons, and two misdemeanor arrests for drugs.

“Removing impaired drivers from Missouri roadways is one of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s top priorities,” Capt. McDonald said. “If you choose to drink and drive, you will be arrested and you will go to jail. If your plans include alcohol, always have a sober designated driver.”
