William Bartlett Bill Smith
1921-2015

Smith, William. obitphotoWilliam Bartlett Bill Smith, 93, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at his home.
He was born December 7, 1921 in Buchanan County, Missouri.
He married Marie Slaydon on November 22, 1944.
Bill proudly served as a pilot in the United States Navy, and was a veteran of World War II. He was a 58 year member of Wyatt Park Christian Church, Past President and member of Uptown Lions Club for 66 years, and Past President of the Building and Industry Club. Bill was President of Shamrad Boiler Company, where he was employed for 40 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna (Bartlett) Smith; daughter, Janie Smith; and sister, Shirley Hatfield.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Susan Heiss, Platte City, Missouri; grandchildren, Kerry Heiss (Maureen), Kelly Brown (Matt), Kasey Crewse (Jason) and Kris Heiss (Amber); and ten great-grandchildren.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Wyatt Park Christian Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Mr. Smith will be removed from Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory to arrive at the church one hour prior to the service. Cletus Moffat
1941 ~ 2015

150x99-3469504Cletus George Moffat, 73, of Ravenwood, Missouri, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at a long term care facility in Moberly, Missouri.

Cletus was born in Clyde, Missouri on June 23, 1941, the son of James and Gertrude (Schieber) Moffat. He was a graduate of Jefferson C 123 High School, Conception Junction, Missouri.

A farmer, Cletus had been a member of the Roman Catholic Church and he served in the National Guard.

Preceding him in death were: his parents and a sister: Odelia Wilmes.

Survivors include his siblings: James Marvin Moffat, Ballwin, Missouri; Alicia (Larry) Tobin, Maryville; Dorothy Lager, Sherman, Texas; Irma (Mark) Wolfer, Maryville; Lawrence (Joyce) Moffat, Ravenwood; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation was held Wednesday May 13, 2015 at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri with Funeral Services to follow at 2pm. Burial is in St Mary Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Joseph D. Rohrer
(March 24, 1927 – May 7, 2015)

Wathena, Kansas – Joseph D. Rohrer, 88, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Wathena Nursing and Rehab.

Joe was born on March 24, 1927 in Wathena, Kansas to Joseph and Elizabeth (Duffy) Rohrer. Joe’s mom passed away when he was two days old and he was raised by his foster parents, Ambrose and Lucy Duffy.

He was a member of the Knights 0f Columbus and Foresters. Joe was a lifetime farmer and sold and installed grave monuments for 43 years. Joe was sexton of the Mount Calvary Cemetery for 43 years.

Joe married Bertha L. Schuman on February 18, 1947 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wathena, Kansas. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, daughter, Teresa Rohrer on February 10, 1963, grandsons, Steve Rohrer and Chance Harris, granddaughter, Alena Rohrer, step-grandchild, Mike Fisher, great-grandson, Blake Rohrer, brothers, Dennis Rohrer and Louis Rohrer, and sisters, Josephine Kaelin, Irene Rohrer and Lucille Shalz.

Larry Rohrer (Theresa) of Wathena, Kansas;
Lawrence Rohrer (Becky) of Wathena, Kansas;
Raymond Rohrer (Lisa) of Merriam, Kansas;
Daughter, Mary Harris of Belton, Missouri;
Grandchildren, Greg, Christine, Denton, Genia, Amber and Tyson.
Step-granddaughter, Tammy Thornberry, 8 Great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren;
Sister, Marilene Regan of Raytown, Missouri;
Numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass was held Monday, May 11, 2015
At the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wathena, Kansas
Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wathena, Kansas
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wathena EMS, Mount Calvary Cemetery Fund or the St. Jude Hospice
