Kenneth Dean Hartman
1934-2015

20150514-151600_HartmanKennethDeanfolderpicture (1)Kenneth Dean Hartman 80, of Halls, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born September 16, 1934 in Lawrence, KS, son of Mable Lucille Ray and William Lawrence Hartman.
Kenneth was raised the first 12 years, Atchison, Ks. then moved to Lawrence, Ks. where he lived until he was 19. On August 3, 1953 he married Ona Mae Smith Hartman. She survives of the home. Kenneth attended school in Lawrence, Ks. and worked part time at his uncle’s junk yard. Kenneth and Ona lived in Lawrence where he worked for Green’s Construction. In 1955 they moved to Rushville, Mo. and he worked for the Cooper’s Foundry in Atchison, then in 1957 he went to work for the Missouri American Water Co. in St. Joseph, Mo and retired from there in July 1993 after 36 years. Most of those years he lived in Halls, Mo. He is a member of Missouri Valley Baptist Church at Halls, where he has served as a deacon and helped teach Sunday School as well as many odd and end jobs that were needed in the church building. In his younger years he played fast pitch baseball on the Quality Sheet Metal team and was a member of their bowling team for several years. Kenny drove many sandpoints in and around the Halls area for drinking water, he also did plumbing jobs on the side and was still called for information regarding plumbing many times. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Imogene Ruff and a grandson Justin R. Hartman. He is survived by his wife Ona Mae of the home,He is survived by three sons, Rick (Patsy) Hartman, David Kirk (Kim) Hartman both of DeKalb, Mo. , Daniel (Vera) Hartman St. Joseph, Mo. , Two daughters, Joyce (Mitch) Pummell Halls, Mo., Sheila (John) Wahlert St. Joseph, Mo. One sister, Juanita (Don) Hodges Lawrence, Ks. , Joe Ruff, brother in law.
Grandchildren: Shane (Andrea) Hartman, Shanin Pummell & Ryan Pummell, Heath (Kellie) Hartman, Jered Hartman & Jeremy (Stevie) Hartman, Tiffany (Jason) White & Tracy (Micah) Fries , Brooke (Todd) Kissel, Christy (Brent) Skipper , Derek Thompson, Yevgeniy (Lanell) Kondratenko ,& Gilbert (Amber) Imbiri. Greatgrandchildren, Paige(Jared)Dewey, Kaylee, Kalyn, & Gage Hartman; Skyleigh & Dakota Pummell; Preston & Kobe Martin; Alyssa White; Grace & Kessed Fries; Chase & Tucker Kissel; Curtis & Carter Skipper; London & Justin Kondratenko. Great, great granddaughters, Joslyn Pummell & Harper Dewey; as well as many friends. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 am, on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastors Jeff Cox and Johnny Williams officiating, Interment Bethel Cemetery . Imogene L. Lee
1940-2015

Lee, Imogene. obitphotoImogene L. Lee, 75, of Rushville, Missouri, passed away with her husband at her side on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Imogene was born in Atchison, Kansas to Bernard and Opal Tull (and Pauline Tull, by marriage) on February 20, 1940.
She attended school in Atchison, Kansas. She married Leslie Lee June 6, 1965 in Atchison, Kansas. She worked as a Serger for Saunders Manufacturing for 18 years.
Imogene is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Leslie Lee Jr.; daughter, Julie Ballew; and brothers, Bernard, John, Carl and Arthur Tull.
Imogene is survived by her husband, Leslie Lee; children, Teresa Clark, Brenda Clark, James Lee, Ellie Walker and Mark Lee; and siblings, Nancy and John Smith, Linda Ellis, Joyce and Cliff Bellomy and Ruth and Butch Moore; and 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was born July 13, 1929 in Castlebar, Ireland.
Margaret married Dr. Joseph Lehmkuhle, D.O. on October 7, 1961.
She formerly resided in Chicago, Illinois, Grand Junction, Colorado and St, Joseph, Missouri where she was a past member of St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church.
Mrs. Lehmkuhle was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Ann (Jennings) O?Hara; husband; sisters, Ann and Mary O?Hara; and brother, Joseph O?Hara.
Survivors include children, Brian Lehmkuhle (Belinda), Austin, Texas, Michael Lehmkuhle, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mary Ann O?Hara (Tom Hawn), Seattle, Washington, Sr. Sheila Lehmkuhle, Chicago, Illinois, Maureen Goetz (John), Shawnee, Kansas and Sean Lehmkuhle, Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Allyson, Connor, Mary, Sophia, Lily and Ryan; and sister, Bridget Delegan.
Visitation 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5501 Monticello, Shawnee, Kansas with a Rosary at 7:45 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 A.M. Tuesday also at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Memorial Park Cemetery, 5005 Frederick Blvd, St. Joseph, Missouri. Albert Laverne “Vern” Merritt

Albert was born on February 10, 1941 in Atchison, Kansas to Albert George and Mildred Louise (Blackstone) Merritt. Albert served in the United States Air Force during the German Theatre in 1962 stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany, retiring July 1965.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wayne, Jerry and Jewel Alfred Merritt.
Albert married Leslie Deiter in 1959 in Hood River, Oregon. She survives of the home.
Additional surviving family includes sons, Wayne Speath, of Rae, Missouri; Greg Speath, St. Joseph; Allen Merritt, Atchison, Kansas; Richard Merritt and Shawn Merritt, both of St. Joseph; daughters, Laura Koopmant, Falls City, Nebraska; Jerrie Jesinoic, Christi Sparks and Jodie Merritt, all of St. Joseph; step-children, Robert Hogan, Greenfield, Iowa; Larry Hogan, St. Joseph; Jessie Hogan, Clarksdale, Missouri; Kelly Hogan-Lopez, St. Joseph; brothers, Donald Merritt, St. Joseph; Bobby Merritt, Milwaukie, Oregon; Eddie Merritt, Portland, Oregon; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Merritt has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Visitation will be held at our chapel, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, May 15, 2015.
