The St. Joseph Police Department is searching for a suspect who attempted to rob a woman at the city’s bus depot.

According to Cmdr. Eric Protzman police responded around 10 p.m. Thursday to the City’s bus depot.

Protzman said a man tried to steal money from an elderly lady there. The man demanded money from the woman who handed him her wallet. He then hit the woman in the head with his hand rummaged through her wallet then threw it on the ground.

Protzman said nothing was stolen and the woman was not injured.

The man is described as a white male in his 30s, tall, muscular build, and dirty or disheveled looking.
