Buchanan County roads remain closed after more than a week

Flooding continues to keep parts of several roads closed in Buchanan County.

Buchanan County Emergency Manager Bill Brinton announced Monday, May 18 that flood waters had forced the county to close parts of several roads. Those same roads remain closed Tuesday, May 26 after heavy rains continue to cause flood concerns around the area.

Parts of the following roads are closed in Buchanan County:
– Mitchell Road
– Saxton/Easton Road
– Hurlinger Road
– 123rd Road
– Kemmerer Road
– Rock Creek Road
– Decker Road
– Quarry Road
– Rising Sun Road
– Route H (near Agency)
– Route FF (near Agency)

 

Brinton said Tuesday, that the Platte River is on the rise and is expected to crest at 26.2 feet, moderate flood level.  He said the roads will continue to be monitored.
