The St. Joseph Mustangs defeated Ozark 3-2 Friday night at Phil Welch Stadium to sweep their three-game home series with the Generals.

The Mustangs grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third as Josh Cassidy hit a two-out, two RBI single.
Ozark came back with two runs off St. Joseph starter Tanner Smith in the fifth inning, but the Mustangs’ took the lead back in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Jerry Houston that scored Scott Braren.
Smith went 6.0 innings to get the win as he allowed two runs on five hits. He struck out three and walked four.
Humberto Medina threw two perfect innings and Steve D’Amico threw a perfect ninth for his third save of the season.
The Mustangs wrap up their five-game homestand Saturday as they host Sedalia at 7:00 p.m. inside Phil Welch Stadium.
