ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis police say a woman who claimed that she and a 3-year-old girl were injured in a drive-by shooting is now admitting that she lied about the details of what happened.
The woman first told police that she and the girl were on the front porch someone shot at them early Monday.
She said someone driving by in a black Grand Prix shot at them. The woman later recanted and says that they were actually shot by a man who was playing with a gun inside the home.
The woman was struck in the arm, the child in the armpit. Both are hospitalized in serious condition. The man has been taken into custody, but charges have not been filed.
