An Atchison, Kansas woman was seriously hurt in a traffic accident in southern Buchanan County Monday.

In a late crash report, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Heather Denton lost control of her vehicle along MO 45 highway near Lewis and Clark Village. The accident took place around 2:45 p.m. Monday.

The vehicle, a 2005 Cherolet Cobalt left the road, went into a ditch, and hit a utility pole.

Denton was transported to Mosaic Life Care for treatment of serious injuries.
