Work to interstate ramps delayed due to weather

Construction road MoDotST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation had planned to begin working on all on and off ramps on northbound Interstate 29 between 1.5 miles south of Route O in Buchanan County and Business Route 71 in Andrew County this evening at 6 p.m. Weather over the weekend delayed other work and has pushed the ramp portion of the project back to Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Aug. 25-26.

Crews will work at each ramp on northbound I-29 where the ramp meets the interstate mainline beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25. Work will continue on the ramps on the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 26. The contractor will build transitions from the new pavement on the interstate mainline to the ramp surface, working on half of each ramp at a time in order to leave the ramps open to traffic. A 15-foot width restriction will be in place during the work.

All work is planned to begin no earlier than 6 p.m. each evening, after peak travel times, and should be completed each day by 6 a.m. Motorists may experience delays both at the ramp locations and along the mainline, as slow-moving equipment must be transported between each ramp.
