An unusual boating accident at Lake of the Ozarks sent a Colorado man to the hospital with serious injuries. The report from the Water Division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol describes it as a “fall inside a boat.”

Investigators say the speed boat was travelling at excessive speed when it hit a wave. That caused Jeffrey Gaines to hit another occupant of the boat.

The 40-year-old Aurora, Colorado man was transported to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. The other occupant, Timothy Greufe of Parker, Colorado, was not hurt.
