A community baby shower is being hosted by one local agency to give parents in Buchanan County an idea of what to expect while they’re expecting.

Community Action Partnership is holdings its 2nd Annual Community Baby Shower Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the YWCA located at 304 N. 8th St. in St. Joseph.

“The event is being held to help provide support to not only first time parents but all expecting parents in Buchanan County,” said Katie Lorenz, Head Start Health and Nutrition Coordinator.

Participants will hear on a variety of issues surrounding infant care.

“They will be educated on a variety of topics relating to the care of their new infants as well as linkage to supportive community resources,” Lorenz said.

There will also be giveaways and food at the event.
