Gasoline prices are falling dramatically, following similar declines in the price of crude oil.
Tuesday’s nationwide average price for regular gasoline was $2.39 per gallon.
According to AAA, that’s about a penny cheaper than the day before, more than six cents cheaper than a week ago, and 21 cents cheaper than a month ago.
The average across Missouri was $2.15/gallon. By mid-morning Tuesday, about half a dozen stations in St Joseph had posted prices of $2.29 per gallon.
It costs an average of $35.09 to fill a 15-gallon tank in St Joseph. That’s down from $35.96 a week ago, according to AAA.
The average price in Kansas was $2.30/gallon, although prices in Wathena ranged from $2.35 to $2.49 per gallon.
