A tree along the Parkway near Corby Pond in St Joe picked precisely the wrong time to fall over Tuesday morning.

Officials say this particular tree was tinder-dry, almost entirely dead, and could have fallen over at any time. It fell onto one of two women walking along the sidewalk.

According to the initial reports, the woman suffered a head injury, and was pinned underneath the tree briefly.

Tracy McEnaney was taken to Mosaic Life Care by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Her walking companion was not injured.

The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday along the Parkway between Ashland Ave. and Corby Pond, an area historically dubbed “Lilac Hill.”
