Heritage Park will be renamed to Bill McKinney Softball Complex later this week.

The City of St. Joseph announced Monday that a re-naming ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.

The complex will be referred to as Bill McKinney Softball Complex at Heritage Park following the dedication.

“The dedication recognizes Bill’s numerous and substantial accomplishments in the community as the Parks, Recreation and Civic Facilities Director and a longtime softball enthusiast,” the city said in a news release. “The softball complex was one dream, of many, in which Bill was committed to becoming a reality.”

Heritage Park is located at 2202 Waterworks Road. The public is invited to attend.
