Volunteers sought for Pony Express Run

United Way FeatureThe United Way of Greater St. Joseph is looking for more than 100 volunteers to help with the 4th annual Pony Express Run.

The run will take place Saturday, Sept. 26.

Volunteers are needed to work water stations, monitor intersections along the route and cheer on participants as they complete the 5K or half-marathon.

The race starts at 8 a.m. ad will start and finish at the Pony Express Museum located at 914 Penn in downtown St. Joseph.  Volunteers will need to check in at the museum at 7 a.m. and are being asked to work two, three or four hours.

“Individuals, groups and teams are encouraged to volunteer and help keep racers safe,” said Kylee Strough, United Way President.

Proceeds from this year’s Pony Express Run will go towards the 2015 United Way Campaign.
