PLATTE COUNTY – Due to multiple pavement failures within a work zone, crews have closed southbound I-29 at Cookingham Dr. (Route D) until 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24.

I-29 was already reduced to one lane at this location for bridge repairs. The closure will not impact travelers headed northbound to KCI Airport. However, travelers headed to the airport from southbound will need to follow the signed detour. All work is weather dependent.

The Missouri Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey warning signs and use caution when driving through work zones.
