Michael “Mike” Arthur Bozarth
1955-2015
Michael “Mike” Arthur Bozarth 60, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. He was born July 20, 1955 in Cameron, MO, son of Shirley and Charles Bozarth. He was the owner and operator of Bozarth Texaco and the St. Joseph Telegraph newspaper. Mike was very involved in the community, serving as City Councilman for the City of St. Joseph, representing the South Side, as well as several service organizations such as the South St. Joseph Progressive Association. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, and a brother, Charles A. Bozarth. Survivors include, two brothers, Greg (Shan) Bozarth, and Doug (Jamie) Bozarth of Saint Joseph, MO, sister, Sandra (Rob) Falter of Westphalia, MO, two nephews; James and Jared Bozarth, three nieces; Heather Sandlin, Brandi Smith, and Yoshi Su, several great nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Becky Darr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home, with officiating, The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Cheryl A. (Surface) Sheets
1945-2015
Cheryl A. (Surface) Sheets, 70, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care.
She was born September 22, 1945 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Cheryl graduated from Lafayette High School, class of 1963.
She married Darwin Thomas Sheets January 25, 1964 and he preceded her in death in 2012.
She worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant at the YMCA, retiring after 48 years. Cheryl fully believed in YMCA’s mission statement “To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.”
Mrs. Sheets was a member of Faith United Church.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Gertrude (Enke) Surface; son, Jason Sheets; and father and mother-in-law, Glen and Alpha Sheets.
Survivors include her sister, E. “Kay” Wilson, St. Joseph; brother, John Surface (Janice), St. Joseph; sister-in-law, Mary Pepple, St. Joseph; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her YMCA family.
The family wants to extend a special thanks to caregivers at Mosaic Long Term Acute Care.

Mary E. Maag
1951-2015
Mary E. Maag, 64, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, surrounded by her family and friends who will miss her laughter and positive attitude.
Mary was born May 17, 1951 to Paul Jr. and Delores (Schneider) Maag.
She graduated from Savannah High School and Missouri Western State University. She began her career as a secretary at Snorkel. She started her teaching career with the Savannah School District as a Remedial Reading teacher and retired in 2011 from the Union Star School District. She was an encouraging, positive influence for countless children through the years.
She attended the Cosby Zion United Methodist Church, where she served on various committees. Mary was a member of the Zion Cemetery Board serving as a secretary.
She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, researching family genealogy, and her flowers.
Survivors include her parents; and a brother, Kenneth Maag, Cosby, Missouri.

Ray Jensen
1937-2015
Ray Jensen, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his home.
He was born July 17, 1937 in St. James, Minnesota.
He came to Missouri and worked at Continental Can and later worked at Herzog and retired from Johnson Controls.
Ray enjoyed camping, playing pool, cards and all sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elizabeth (Tiedeken) Jensen; sons, Lanny and Jayme Jensen; and three sisters, Elly, Dee and Vickie.
Ray leaves behind the love of his life, Sharon Jensen; daughter, Dawn Jensen; grandchildren, Lana, Brad, Joshua and Taylor; siblings, Jenny Glasgow and Jim Jensen; and his canine companion, Tigger.
