1959-2015

Judy Lynn Wood, 55 of Cameron, Missouri passed away Monday October 12, 2015. Judy was born November 25, 1959 in North Kansas City, Missouri Daughter of Bertha and Myron Uptegrove. She married William “Bill” Wood July 1, 1978. She graduated from Winnetonka High School. She was a wonderful housewife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Preceding her in death is father Myron Wayne Uptegrove, and Brother Carl Wayne Nichelson. Surviving family include: Husband, Bill of the home, Mother, Bertha Uptegrove of Kansas City, Missouri, a brother Fred (Rebecca) Uptegrove of St. Joseph, Missouri, a sister Sandy Uptegrove of Kansas City, Missouri, sons Ryan Wood of Kansas City, Missouri, Douglas Wood and Trent (Brittany) Wood , daughter Tiffany (John) McPheeters all of Cameron Missouri. Judy had 11 Grandchildren: Caitlynn, Jacob, Madison, Brenden, Jaelynn, Skylar, Alexandria, Riley, Caelen, Kaine, and Roslynn, numerous nieces and nephews, and her lifelong friend Lisa Thompson. Ernest Kretzer
1949-2015

20151013-142033_KretzerErnestROCKAWAY BEACH, Mo. – Ernest Kretzer, 66, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away at his son’s home, in Rockaway Beach, surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, Oct. 12, 2015.
Ernest was born to Don Thomas Kretzer and Susie Gertrude (Parker) Kretzer.
Ernest was a painter for many years in Colorado, and also farmed tobacco in Weston, Mo. He was a logger for Simpson’s Sawmill.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Susie Gertrude Kretzer; a granddaugher, Lacey Kretzer; a brother, Dallas Kretzer; and sister, Lois Leota Kretzer; and sister-in-law, Cindy Kretzer.
He is survived by: his children, Ernie Kretzer and Jonny Kretzer, of St. Joseph, Thomas Kretzer (Linda), Rockaway Beach, and Beckey Kretzer Nelson (Richard), Ardmore, Okla.; brothers, Alec Hovey (Jerrie), Kenneth Kretzer (Linda), Larry Kretzer (Betty), Richard Kretzer, Charles Kretzer and Lloyd Kretzer (Dawn); sisters, Patricia Ray and Linda Baskins; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Bubba Phroper, and former wife and mother of his children Martha Deaton of St. Joseph
Ernest lived life to the fullest. He loved to be around his family and friends and always appreciated a cold beer. He was a very loving father and grandfather. He never knew a stranger and would help anybody. He loved traveling to Colorado as it was his second home. If you were so luck to have known Ernest, you know there was never a dull moment and laughter — you will be sadly missed. We all love you, Pops! Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, at the Rupp Chapel, Andy Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 PM Thursday, Rupp Funeral Home. Michael “Mike” Arthur Bozarth
1955-2015

20151012-145419_bozarthmichaelarthur (1)Michael “Mike” Arthur Bozarth 60, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital. He was born July 20, 1955 in Cameron, MO, son of Shirley and Charles Bozarth. He was the owner and operator of Bozarth Texaco and the St. Joseph Telegraph newspaper. Mike was very involved in the community, serving as City Councilman for the City of St. Joseph, representing the South Side, as well as several service organizations such as the South St. Joseph Progressive Association. He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church. Preceding him in death are his parents, and a brother, Charles A. Bozarth. Survivors include, two brothers, Greg (Shan) Bozarth, and Doug (Jamie) Bozarth of Saint Joseph, MO, sister, Sandra (Rob) Falter of Westphalia, MO, two nephews; James and Jared Bozarth, three nieces; Heather Sandlin, Brandi Smith, and Yoshi Su, several great nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Becky Darr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Rupp Funeral Home, with officiating, The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
