The Missouri State Highway Patrol held a hazardous moving operations on Interstate 29 in Atchison and Holt Counties last weekend issuing several tickets and warnings in an effort to promote roadway safety.
The operation was held on Sunday, Oct. 11 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph said officers assigned placed special attention to violations that contribute to traffic crashes, as well as adhering to the Patrol’s zero tolerance policy for seat belts and child restraints.
As a result of the project, officers issued 26 citations and 57 warnings.
“Motorists traveling on Missouri’s roadways can expect that members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be striving to keep our roadways safe through strict enforcement,” Capt. McDonald said.”Always pay attention to the task of driving, and please wear your seat belt at all times.”
