Sixty-seven merchants, organizations and officials will be handing out candy or other treats to the children.
“We have set a new high with 67 participants in this year’s event,” said Kathryn Rice, the event’s coordinator. “It has become a Maryville tradition with everyone from the kids and parents to the downtown merchants and businesses looking forward to it each year.”
The Maryville Chamber of Commerce will be handing out treats from their new location at 408 North Market. The Elks Lodge 760 on Main Street will be providing free hot dogs and drinks. The Maryville DARE officer and role models will once again be at Third and Main Streets with glow necklaces for trick or treaters.
