A Convicted Sex Offender is accused of using 911 to harass Andrew County dispatchers and allegedly threaten a deputy.
35-year-old Stephen Craig Strong of St. Joseph is charged in Andrew County with a misdemeanor for misusing 911.
According to court documents Strong called deputies to respond Sunday around 7:45 p.m. to the 180000 block of Private Drive in Savannah over a domestic situation.
“Dispatched advised that Strong kept calling the office and was cussing at them and being very disrespectful towards the dispatcher and jailers. He was told to quit calling because the deputies were in rout and still kept calling and harassing the staff,” said Daniel Glidden, K-9 Deputy for the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department.
Glidden said deputies got there around 8:21 p.m.
“Deputy Hudson and I made contact with Strong who appeared to be very intoxicated,” Glidden said. “While we ere talking to Strong he told Deputy Hudson multiple times that he was a b***h and wanted him off of his property.”
After informing Strong that Hudson was not leaving Glidden said Strong started talking about how much he did not like Glidden’s hair.
“I then told Strong to quit calling the Sheriff’s Office and that we would check the area and doing a well being check on his daughter and get back with him if we figured anything new out,” Glidden said.
When deputies contacted the girl’s mother dispatch said Strong called the Sheriff’s landline.
“Said how much he wanted to chew my K-9 partner up and he also stated to me (at his residence) to let my dog out of the car because he would like to watch his dog kill it,” Glidden said.
Court document said Strong called the Sheriff’s Department Landline 11 times from 8:09 p.m. to 8:48 p.m.
According to the Missouri Sex Offender Registry, Strong pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree statutory rape of two girls, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old in 2007. One of the incidents took place in Andrew County in Sept. 2006, the second in St. Joseph in August of 2006. He was released in Sept. of 2009
