
A St. Joseph women entered a guilty plead Monday on a charge stemming from the death of her baby boy.
According to Prosecuting Attorney Kate Schaefer, 28-year-old Sasha Lizar pleaded guilty to Endangering the Welfare of A Child. A sentencing hearing is set for December 14th. Lizar could face a maximum sentence of seven years behind bars.
A second person is also charged in connection with Lizar’s son, Carter Lizar’s death. Carter died on his first birthday in August.
59-year-old Roy Miller Jr. is charged with a felony for abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death. A trail setting for Miller is scheduled for Nov. 19.
As we previously reported, court document said in August Miller assaulted the child by violently shaking him and causing injury which resulted in substantial brain trauma resulting in his death. Lizar admitted she committed endangering the welfare of a child by leaving her infant in a dangerous environment. Court documents state that Lizar used methamphetamine while caring for her child and left him with others who had also ingested methamphetamine.
