KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A woman has died after the car she was in collided with a Kansas City police vehicle.

Kansas City police said in a release that 48-year-old Chandra Weaver of Kansas City died early Tuesday in the accident.

Police say Weaver’s vehicle had been stopped at a stop sign but then pulled out into the intersection as the police car approached. Police say the officer driving tried to avoid striking the car.

Police say Weaver, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two officers suffered minor injuries.
