Police search for person of interest in homicide described as “dangerous and possibly armed”

hollandsworthThe St. Joseph Police Department is searching for a man in a homicide investigation they say should be considered dangerous and possibly armed.

Detectives are searching for 36-year-old Scott Lee Hollandsworth as a person of interest in connection with what police are now calling a homicide investigation that took place Monday evening in the 1500 block of Felix St. Hollandsworth is described by police as a white man around 5’11, 160 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

“He should be considered dangerous and possibly armed,” Wilson said.

As we previously reported, police responded to a call of shots fired around 9 p.m. Monday to find a 33-year-old St. Joseph man dead in a bathroom at a home located at 1519 Felix St. The case was initially classified as a suspicious death investigation but autopsy results indicate that gunshot wound is the cause of death in the case.

Wilson said 58-year-old Joel Clark of St. Joseph was arrested at what online court documents list as his home address when police responded to the call and is being held on charges unrelated to the homicide investigation.  Clark was charged Tuesday in Buchanan County with a misdemeanor for unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $2,500 and an arraignment is set for Friday.

The identity of the victim is still being withheld by police pending family notifications.
